class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBy 2026, Seattle Drum School of Music (SDSM) aims to secure the future of its Lake City location by purchasing the building, ensuring a permanent home for community-focused music education. The Lake City building owner is seeking to sell the building by Fall of 2026. As SDSM already suffered the loss of its original home of over 30 years in 2016, it most likely cannot withstand another relocation. The volume of lessons held at the Lake City school supports the cost of leasing the Georgetown school, which in turn supports the community with easy access to rehearsal and event space as well as a hub for musical activity for all ages. The loss of one building would likely lead to the loss of the other, so this is a high priority to ensure the survival of the SDSM legacy. The goal is for the school to continue its mission past the lives of its founders.\n<br\/><br\/>\nAt the same time, we aim to enhance our educational offerings and community engagement. Our goals include expanding access to music education through increased scholarship opportunities and remote learning options, particularly in response to ongoing shifts in educational preferences following the pandemic. We plan to broaden our curriculum to include emerging music technologies and production techniques, meeting the growing interest in digital music creation.\n<br\/><br\/>\nWe aim to build out a recording space at our Georgetown school to support endeavors of community members with low-cost access to equipment and services.\nWe plan to pursue funding to launch the &#8220;Step Up Jazz Band&#8221; program tailored for low-income middle school youth in south Seattle to compensate for the cancellation of public school band programs. We want to provide them the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive, ensemble setting in order to gain access to high school band placements.\u00a0\n<br\/><br\/>\nAdditionally, SDSM is committed to strengthening partnerships with local organizations to continue hosting community events and workshops that foster a deeper connection with the arts.\u00a0This strategic growth is aligned
