Daniel Arthur is a Seattle-based pianist and composer. His music for piano trio, featuring Kelsey Mines (bass) and Max Holmberg (drums) contains elements of classical, pop, metal and improvised music without being limited to one genre. The trio’s performances are always captivating and exhilarating, showcasing the highest level of musicianship from the band as they navigate through the music with precision and spontaneity. In his compositions, Arthur strikes a balance between complexity and accessibility, engaging the audience with strong melodies and grooves which keep the demanding music digestible and intriguing to the listeners. Improvisation is a crucial element of the trio’s performances. The music, while requiring precision from the musicians, encourages improvisations and the freedom to perform a song in a completely new way each time. This keeps the band present and ready for new directions in the music at any time, translating into an unforgettable performance.
