“We’re happy to announce the founding of our #Anahuak dance group, Tlalokan!
Tlalokan (pronounced Tlah – LOW – khan) is the realm of Tlalok, the Toltec archetype of rain and water. This realm is a heavenly place with lush forests and greenery, yielding neverending fresh fruits and plants for all who dwell within. All who die from water or lightning related deaths, as well as sick and stillborn infants, will be received by Tlalokan. There resides a beautiful and massive tree, with bosoms for all the babies so they will never go hungry. No one knows lack within Tlalokan.
Our naming of our group as #Tlalokan is to serve as a metaphor. As the fertile fields of Tlalokan forever grow, so too should we in our own selves, knowledge, and culture. Thank you for being a part of it all. May this be the start of something great.
