Q: How has a student inspired you?

A: “My students have inspired me by listening to them tell their stories, as well learning and growing with them through the years. You’re always a student first.”

Q: My essential tools for teaching music are:

A: “Making sure the student is having fun! Students that are serious about the instrument will work hard & focus on their craft. Always giving advice, trying to set them on the right path, I feel those are really the key to success. Everything else will be a part of that learning process.”

ABOUT STEVE

Drum Instructor Steve Fournier adds a very important element to the Georgetown curriculum. Steve’s specialty is extreme drumming, but he’s also well versed in Rock and Blues. He has toured extensively throughout the US and abroad with well known bands such as Castdown, Drawn and Quartered, Agression Core, Faustus, Himsa, Inmemorium, Barflys, and Jim Basnight Band among many others. Steve has studied with drum school owner Steve Smith, Jason McGerr, and Mike Peterson to name a few. His enthusiastic energy and relaxed teaching style make him a very sought after instructor. You can catch him playing #inthewild with FEVER 103 – A tribute to Foreigner and Whythre.
