Hello Seattle Drum School Family and Friends,

With the holidays upon us and a reminder to call to mind what we are grateful for we say thank you for being on this journey with us.  The transition to mostly online lessons has been trying at times and a miracle in some unforeseeable ways. 

Though nothing can replace in person lessons and a bustling lobby where connections are made through music and communication and banter (and puzzles), we still see students thriving!  We love when parents, partners, siblings, roommates and even pets pop their heads in to say hi and even love having a glimpse into our students lives by seeing them in their natural surroundings.  There is something intimate about it despite our physical distance. 

Another benefit: students can travel or even relocate, and lessons can continue.  How cool is that?

Thanks to the perseverance of instructor Chris Littlefield, we are offering real-time group lessons online including Contemporary Band and Rock Band classes.  In addition there are a limited amount of in-person lessons happening with all safety measures in place (plexiglass dividers, open windows, fans, masks and plenty of hand sanitizer) and never more than one teacher and one student per classroom. Only a few teachers are offering this option and the schools are operating at less than 5% occupancy.

Music is a vital part of our lives, our health, our self-expression, and our community. We encourage you if at all interested in starting or resuming lessons, to please reach out!

You can also give the gift of music lessons by getting a gift certificate to give to a family member, a neighbor or even a stranger in need. 

It does not matter your background or your age, we have something for everybody.

Our mission is to provide a community and culture that encourages learning, friendship, personal growth, & self-expression not just for our students, but for their families, and our wonderful instructors and staff.

You’ll find Marta in the office Monday through Thursday from noon to 8pm and Friday from noon to 6pm and Sammy on Saturdays from 10am to 5pm.

We appreciate you and look forward to seeing you again at our locations in Lake City (12729 Lake City Way NE) and Georgetown (1010 South Bailey) when things open up.

Dear Student/Parent/Reader, 

We are grateful every day that our community is still intact - albeit virtually!  All lessons are now taught online and the feedback has been tremendous! Teachers and students are learning so much through this process. Who knew?

Although teachers are doing much of their own scheduling, we have admin in the office enrolling new students, answering phone calls and emails and taking phone payments.  Office hours are Monday through Thursday noon to 8pm (Maggie), Friday noon to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm (James). 

A few reminders:  

  • All payments are processed by phone (206)-364-8815 while we quarantine.
  • We are accepting new students for many instruments including:  guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, voice, woodwinds, trumpet, vibraphone/mallet instruments and drums (duh).

Thank you for all you do to keep the music playing!
