THE LAB@1010

Once upon a time in North Seattle, there was a welcoming magical musical place called The LAB (Little Auditorium in the Back), curated by Seattle Drum School of Music. A place where musicians of all ages experienced their first live performances, it also hosted international bands like the Arctic Monkeys.

That legacy continues at The LAB@1010, an intimate all ages music, performance and event space located in a historic building at our South Seattle / Georgetown school.

This charming venue comes complete with a stage & lighting, full front-of-house system, backline including a grand piano, free parking, and immediate access to I-5.

Creating a safe, positive, and inspiring environment for musicians of all ages to explore and share their passion for music!

History

Over the years we’ve hosted dozens of drum clinics, master classes, and music industry seminars featuring such renowned artists as David Garibaldi, Billy Kilson, Jim Chapin, Freddy Gruber, Dom Famularo, Mike Clark, Stanton Moore, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Martin Atkins, Will Kennedy, Chris Johnson, and many others.

Acoustics

Designed for versatility, the venue fosters creative expression while offering high-quality sound and production support. Room acoustics and sound quality were the highest priorities in its design, and today it’s known for its cool vibe and warm atmosphere.

We've hosted hundreds of events including: all-ages shows and jam sessions, private parties, video shoots, presentations, comedy, poetry, film screenings, memorials, dance practice, art & vendor shows, cabaret, church service + more. This is also the place for your rehearsals, live streaming and audio recording. Let us know what creative endeavors we can host for you!

Our engineers can facilitate a room recording (single track) or create multi-track recordings of your performance. Mixing services are also available to finish your project.
