CREATING COMMUNITY

COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS

Seattle Drum School of Music actively fosters connections beyond our student base, working with local organizations to enrich the cultural fabric of our community.

Since 2021, SDSM has expanded our community by making our fully-equipped Georgetown performance venue The LAB @ 1010 available as a place to gather, rehearse and host events for community members and organizations not already connected to our school.

The LAB @ 1010 has hosted over 300 events, and provided ongoing discounted access to multicultural and community organizations such as:

One Vibe Africa podcast and rehearsals, + Instrument Drive

Tlalokan Seattle & Mictlanticuctli Aztec dance

Primm Tabernacle AMA Church

Seattle Asian Musicians Association (XAMA)

Seattle Composers Alliance

Blues To Do

STG’s Education and Community Engagement program

Friends of Georgetown History

Veterans of The Arts

The LAB has also hosted rehearsals, dance practice, audio recordings, livestreams, all-ages performance collectives, film and podcast productions, video shoots and screenings, workshops and more.

Check out The LAB @ 1010 Gallery!

Through these collaborations, we continue to make music and performance accessible to a diverse range of artists and organizations, strengthening Seattle’s creative and cultural community.

HELP US SUPPORT COMMUNITY-CENTERED EVENTS

Under their nonprofit umbrella, SDSM benefits from a supportive framework that enhances our mission to provide a variety of services to a diverse community.
