Summer Band Camps

The 2025 Band Camp Schedule is live!!! Save your spot!

Band Camps are one-week programs during the summer, 9am to 2pm Monday through Friday.

Seattle Drum School of Music Band Camps are an amazing experience for young musicians (Age 10-17)! It’s their chance to unlock their creative potential, acquire rehearsal skills, and learn cooperation and teamwork. The band members will work with a full time coach who will encourage them to build their own sound and even to compose their own songs if they’re interested!

The final performance (Friday of camp week at 1pm) is not to be missed by family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who loves to see the unbelievable results of five days of collaboration and magic. We will also livestream for those who cannot attend performances in-person.

Check our Band Camp Gallery to see some awesome video recordings from previous years.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops are periodic learning sessions including our monthly Littles session, as well as periodic workshops, clinics, info sessions, and special events produced by our community partners. Please sign up for our monthly Newsletter, and check our Calendar for upcoming events

How it works

How do I sign up for a single lesson?

All lessons must be paid in full at the time the lesson is scheduled. Give us a call to sign up!

New lessons cannot be scheduled more than a week in advance.

If you are not paying the monthly flat rate, we cannot guarantee the same instructor or time will be available the following week.

Your appointment confirmation holds a spot in an instructor's schedule. Reschedules or refunds are not available.

Can I pay-as-I-go for weekly lessons?

Our tuition fee is a monthly flat rate for private lessons paid in advance of each month. Lessons are scheduled every week of the month, which reserves your time slot with a regularly scheduled Instructor. When paying the monthly tuition rate, it remains the same whether it is a 4 or 5 week month. This weekly commitment encourages consistent learning and discipline, and supports the strong foundation of our school's Instructors.

If I am paying monthly is there a different rate for shorter months?

When on the monthly membership with auto-charge, tuition is the same whether there are four or five weeks in a month. This works as a benefit to our students and maintains stability for our Instructors.

If I start monthly weekly classes in the middle of a month is it prorated?

Lessons that begin in the middle of a month will be prorated for the number of weeks/lessons remaining in that month. We do not prorate months where you will have planned absences.

When do I make a payment when paying monthly?

Our default autopay date is on the 25th of each month prior to pay for the following month’s lessons. For example; March lessons will be automatically charged to your card on file on February 25th. Please let us know if you'd like to request an exception.

Do you offer refunds or makeups??

We do not require our Instructors to offer makeups for student absences or the 5 holidays a year that we close. Your tuition pays for a time slot with an instructor every week; a make-up would require your Instructor to volunteer additional time outside of their confirmed scheduled lessons.

If you need to miss a lesson, please let us know as early as possible so Instructors can plan their schedules. Same-day callouts (unless for sickness or emergency) cause stress on our Admin team as well as affecting Instructors’ schedule planning for the day. This partnership is required between all parties to be successful.

If you must miss a lesson, your options are:

  • Gift the lesson (for the specific day/time being missed) to a friend/family member.
  • It may be possible to switch an 'in-person' to a virtual lesson with your Instructor at your lesson time.
  • Miss the lesson that week.

note:
The School Administrators will not coordinate makeups; if the instructor chooses to provide a makeup they will coordinate that directly with the student as that is volunteer time.

What if my Instructor is absent?

In the event that your instructor must miss a lesson, we will try our hardest to provide a qualified substitute Instructor for that time slot. If you choose not to accept a lesson with an alternative instructor, you will not be credited for the canceled lesson. If we are unable to confirm a substitute, your regular Instructor will work with you to schedule a make-up lesson. If that is not possible, we will credit the lesson the next month.

How do I discontinue my lessons?

  • If you have schedule changes or wish to discontinue lessons, inform your School Administrator to ensure proper scheduling. You must also inform the administrator at your school location (see contact information)
Telling your Instructor does NOT count as giving proper notice.
  • We ask for a month’s notice in writing to stop monthly lessons and REQUIRE a two week notice.
  • We cannot offer refunds at this time, so let us know by the 15th of your intent to stop at the end of the month. We do not offer refunds after autopay is run between the 25th-30th of the month prior to the month the lessons will be taken.
  • If you miss informing us prior to your tuition charge date, we will apply two weeks towards the instructor and keep two credits for you to schedule one-off lessons within the calendar year.
  • This policy has been established for our instructors to give them time to schedule another student in that time slot, which helps us to retain such wonderful teachers with longevity.

Getting started

We love to talk directly to our prospective students, so we can best match each person with an instructor to meet your needs. The first step is contacting the administration team at the school you wish to attend. They can do it all: answer your questions, help you set up lessons, sign up for a camp or class, and any other account management support that you need!
