Carissa Allik is a dynamic and versatile young trumpet player from the outskirts of Seattle who has been performing professionally since the age of 11 and teaching since 15. Establishing herself early as an in-demand artist, she performs regularly in both Seattle and New York City, sharing the stage with world-renowned musicians including Wayne Bergeron, Kenny Garrett, Demondrae Thurman, the Charles Mingus Big Band, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández.
While her foundation is in jazz, Carissa’s musical experience spans classical, hip-hop, mariachi, R&B, and contemporary pop, giving students exposure to a wide range of styles and real-world musical settings.

Currently studying under Ingrid Jensen and Steve Treseler, Carissa brings a fresh and modern perspective to her teaching. She is committed to creating a supportive, engaging environment where students of all ages feel motivated to learn, take creative risks, and build confidence.

As an instructor, Carissa focuses on strong fundamentals as the foundation for lifelong musical growth. Her lessons emphasize creativity, improvisation, ear training, and personal expression, helping students not only learn their instrument, but discover their own musical voice. Drawing from her professional experience, she prepares students with both the technical skills and real-world insight needed to thrive as musicians.
